Job Role: QTP & Selenium Testing
Job Summary :
Responsibilities:
• Provides input for the plan, scope, schedule and implementation of test automation projects.
• Participates in defining automation test objectives, strategies, standards, and metrics.
• Completes tasks within an established schedule.
• Interacts and supports QA testers with basic analysis and technical details used in testing and relationships with automation techniques used.
• Provides input to define areas for further automation or improvement.
• Debugs own automation code within project deliverables, and assists in debugging the automation code of others.
• Tracks and analyzes own test results, takes corrective action, reports automation summaries, and updates status.
• Communicates with cross functional areas impacted by automation.
• Protects company proprietary and confidential information.
• Ability to work in a responsive team environment to ensure that the product(s) under test meets specified requirements through the use of automated test procedures.
• Ability to assist with the planning, designing, development and maintenance of resuable, automated testing/verification mechanisms through the use of automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of the product under test preferred.
• Experience in software development and/or product testing within an SDLC process.
• Basic programming skills evident, with experience in automated testing tools, techniques,and methodologies preferred.
• Experience developing automated tests from test specifications.
• Experience with scripting languages, such as Perl, Python, JavaScript, Windows and Unix shell scripting, SQL is a plus.
• Ability to perform basic code designs for automation projects.
• Ability to debug own code and basic components of other's code within the confines of a project.
• Knowledge of reuse techniques around code components.
• Strong analytic skills allowing problem solving with minimal supervision.
• Experience understanding the necessity of software reliability and quality through automation and consistent automation processes.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Experience in understanding and empathizing with a variety of customer personas.
• Excellent interpersonal skill set with a self-starting attitude, encouraging teamwork and flexibility.
• Ability to quickly adapt and learn new processes and systems effectively.
• Ability to insert a high degree of creativity and initiative within projects.
• Ability to understand and provide clarity to ambiguous and dynamic tasks.
• Assists with the analysis, design, development, and ongoing maintenance of basic automated tests performed against the application(s) under test within the confines of established automation development processes.
Soft Skills:
• Desire to learn, innovative ideas, energy and enthusiasm at work place
• Should have good customer interaction skills and effective mentoring skills
